You must have broken a rule or your mother's trust and she is trying to teach you some important boundaries. By the way, if you liked being grounded, it wouldn't be punishment, right? One thing you could do would be to wait a little while--an hour or so, so everybody has cooled down--then ask your mother if you could discuss alternative punishments. If she's willing to discuss them--and that's her choice--then she is going to insist on a substitute punishment that is just as tough as grounding to you, but different. You could suggest some things, like doing all the dishes every day for two weeks, or doing a major chore that takes several hours, perhaps a whole day, one that is hard and that you really hate. Don't try to get off easy, because that won't work. But do try to talk to your mom. Be prepared, though, because she may not give you options and in that case, your best bet is to serve your sentence and not break the rules or your mother's trust in the future.

you are grounded because you did something which is unacceptable. Your parents ground you because they know you hate it as a means of showing you just how unacceptable your actions are. If you don't want to be grounded, then be responsible for your actions. Parental rules are not generally meant to excercise their absolute control over you, though that is the way you see it, it is to keep you safe and teach you the lessons you need to get on in life, among the toughest to teach is consideration for others which is usually taught in the way of a curfew or bed time. learn from this mistake

That's easy...you avoid grounding by not doing things you know your mom/parents don't want you to do.

Do the crime, do the time...sorry, but that's how it is. Take responsibility for your actions. Punishment is crummy to deal with, but if you didn't misbehave then you wouldn't have to worry about it.

I spent plenty of time on restriction as a kid, but I knew why. I broke the rules.

As they say, "don't do the crime if you can't do the time." Seriously, if you really are sincerely sorry about what you did to get grounded, talk to your mom about it. Tell her that you know you did wrong, and explain why it was wrong, so that she knows you get it. Tell her what you'll do instead next time. And then maybe pick up a few chores that she hasn't asked you to do. That might get you some time off for good behavior.

Never lie. I made a deal with my parents long ago that if I did something bad, I would tell them the truth and if they ever caught me lying, I agreed that the punishment should be more severe. So, I just never did anything TOO bad and everything was fine.

The old saying "If you can't do the time, don't do the crime." comes to mind. Obviously you don't want to be grounded, but if you deserve it, then do your punishment, and smarten up.
