I am currently dating someone I met through e-harmony. I had met others through e-harmony that I had a lot in common with - but that "click" just wasn't there. But this guy - he just may be the one. Anyway, as you know, you cannot surf profiles - matches that are compatible are sent to you. You may initially get 6 - 10 (a guess) - and then maybe one or so a week after that. (Of course it depends how wide of an area you're willing to search). It can be frustrating when you don't get a new one for a while - or the ones you have don't respond to your communication. But I think it's a great way to meet someone you know you're going to be compatible with on a deep level. Gotta have patience though. E-harmony subscribers are usually seeking a serious relationship. I believe the other popular sites where you surf profiles and pictures are often used by guys just to seek casual sex. Good luck if you go with it. Atleast take the free personality quiz - it will tell you what kind of guy would be a good match for you - and you may find it's not the kind of guy you normally attract. It will tell you alot about your own personality as well. You can sign up and choose not to pay until you come across someone who sounds really interesting. Unfortunately, you can't see their photos unless you subscribe though.

i didnt use eharmony, i used singlesnet.com (link below) last year... it was less expensive & seemed more user friendly ( i didnt want to take a full psychological exam just to talk to people).
i talked w/ a few guys online, met 2. the first was way too old for me, once i met him i realized i wasnt attracted to older men (dont be offended guys, it's just me).
i did cross paths with a few creepy ones, but they are pretty easy to spot in chat... just stopped communicating w/ them. obviously, be careful not to give out details about where you live, last name etc. until you meet in person at a neutral place (sorry for the mom lecture). also talked to one guy for a few weeks & he was "too good to be true" -- turned out to be a total player. that was annoying. i felt foolish.
2nd one i met in person: we had chatted online for a week or 2 before talking on the phone, then met in person on august 4th of last year. love at first sight, been inseperable from the FIRST DATE. this is truly the man i have searched for & he feels i am his soul mate too. we plan to marry. best $25 i ever spent. whole process took about 5-6 weeks. i did the free trial & paid for 1 month. then cancelled bc i found what i was looking for.
i also have a friend who met her husband online, not sure what website though, they are happy & just had their first baby.

I know a friend who has been on it for a year.. problem she had was that the ppl most compatible are so far away at times! So pursuing a serious relationship was not that easy. The plus was that the ppl had been prescreened and she did not deal with fraudulent ads.

my friend uses this, i believe it costs about $60-$70 a month, which i think is a joke!!! she has gone on a few dates. this last guy she has been out with 3 times. she seems to like it and she said they do an extensive personality profile match. i would not do online sites anymore. tried them...no good experiences. but if you have the $$ to spend, try it...if not, try Yahoo or match.com. good luck!!!

I used it. My "matches" would be from like 2 states away. If they were from my city (Tucson, AZ), they woulnt reply or if they did it was never real serious. Plus Its like 140$ or something for 3 months, all in one lump payment. I complained about something half way thru my subscription, and pretty much from then on I rarely got any "matches." My advise: Dont waste your money. You can email me if you want..

I have done it. I met one great guy - the rest were all ok. I only "clicked" with the one guy. I made some good friends, though. Of course the guy I met and liked fell for someone else....

Eharmony, true.com and match.com are different but i would try them all and see what fits you best. I got free trials using http://www.couponsdealspromos.com.
