I never came or have done anything illegal in the US. As a kid, I used to come as a tourist (Disneyland, shopping, etc.), I came to study a Masters Degree, then I worked professionally for an American company through a work permit. I went back to Mexico for three years to fulfill an exchange student requirement taking my American wife with me. She was upset that I had to do that when it seems easier for others that just come illegal.
I personally feel a little sorry for the illegal workers because the jobs they can get without permit are really not that great. There are not very many opportunities of making a career. I imagine is kind of like living in the shadows always hiding. It must be very uncomfortable. I personally would rather be in Mexico, but I know most of them weren't as fortunate back there. Hopefully, most of them will invest their hard earned dollars in higher education for their children so they can have better options in the US, Mexico, or anywhere else.

My parents came here legally in the 70's. They had to have sponsors to ensure that they wouldn't be a drain to the economy. They were way too proud to receive welfare, wic, any other type of hand out even when they were eligible. My mom had her tubes tied when they knew they had reached their financial limit with children. These illegal immigrants come here and work under the table, have kids for free, don't pay for their kids' food and drain the school systems who are forced to cater to them. If the new immigration bill passes they better add something in there that forces illegals to pay back any money they were handed out while they were here illegally.

I came here legally, seriously it was a long process. I had a student visa, so my parents had to pay more money for me to attend university here in the US. Do you have any idea how expensive university is for foreign students? I returned to my country of origin(Mexico) then I was working for a company that was sold to a US corporation I was given a job but I had to move to the US so my work visa was sponsored. Having an HB1 visa means I paid taxes, I had do an tax return every year. Then I found an attorney who helped me with my paper work for residence status, seriously it was close to $2,000 for all the paper and such.

We are all immigrants in one way or another - perhaps removed by a generation or two - but immigrants none the less. And judging from the outcry and backlash against the amnesty bill that Washington tried to jam down our throats, I'd have to say that there are literally millions of legal immigrants who are mad as hell.

YES!!People that come here legally had to go thru hoops, time and money to stay here. Why should the illegal have it so easy? If they want to come here they have to pay the price that legal immigrant does. It's not fair to legal immigrant!

My grandparents came here from Europe in the 50's. They had to get a sponsor, and wait their turn, which took seven years. They came here legally, worked their asses off, learned English, and raised good kids. To answer your question, yes they are pissed at illegals.

I am not MAD about it...but my fiance is Canadian, and we are in love...getting married in 4 months...and its a bit frustrating that we are paying thousands of dollars to a lawyer to do it the 'right' way, when so many others are being granted green cards from being illegal citizens. I am MORE frustrated with the government for such strict policies. :(
