Ugh...then you're NOT Catholic...it's like saying, "I'm becoming a doctor, but I'm not attending medical school or anything." If you DON'T practice it, then you are NOT it.

Suicide is self-murder.
GOD can Expand Time and in a second or too (last ones for some) GOD can give People another Chance to Accept Jesus as their Savior and go on to Heaven.
Jesus is the Judge.
The only People I know in Hell are the ones that the Bible says are there, other than that, Jesus is the Great Judge.
Hope this helps.
Ditto.

The Catholic church teaches that suicide is a mortal sin, breaking the commandment "Thou shalt not kill." Personally (and I was raised Catholic) I can't believe God would sentence someone to hell (if there is such a place) for committing suicide. Most suicides come from a point of despair, so suicidal people are really not "in their right mind." How can we judge others that harshly? How can we understand that pain that drives someone to the point of suicide? I think an all-knowing God would understand, though.

Suicide was decriminalised some years ago. You could only be charged with an offence if you placed someone else in danger during a failed attempt. I am of course going to ask you to speak to your friends, family, your GP and even the police about this. The police may sound a bit weird, but actually they have good contacts, and direct access to health services that can talk to you about your feelings. I know... because I've done it. It really does help.

When I was a child in Catholic school, I was taught that the souls go into purgatory when a person takes their own life. And like stated earlier, we are now taught in that purgatory does not exist. Now, I have been taught that the souls just wander the earth, without resting. I do believe in heaven and hell, but I guess we will never truly know what happens to our soul until it we pass away.

I believe they will be judged as the rest of us according to our salvation, regardless of whether they committed suicide. If they are saved and commit suicide, I believe they go to Heaven. I don't know of anywhere in the Bible where it says suicide is the unforgivable sin.
The important thing would be for that person to accept Christ so they can be freed from the torment they are enduring.

Actually purgatory doesn't exist.
I comited suicide and got straightened out by God, read:
http://www.geocities.com/monfille/Testimony.htm
But having been a christian (willingly) since 1990, and many of my friends and family (9 actually including me) comiting suicide, I've heard all the answers from all the possible religions. Not being satisfied, I prayed to God to enlighten me on how He sees a suide, and about 4 years ago, I got the answer, spiritually.
Of course suicide is a lack of faith in God (faith that God will help them) but also after all the debates, God showed me that suicide is "murder". Murder is to take a life, not only other's but our's also since it is not our own. And once you're dead of course you can not repent, so you die in state of sin, and no sin enters heaven. I was sadden but then I know of a case of suicide where it is different. (perhaps you heard of it):
It happened in the States, a young girl poored gasoline on herself and torched herself. She didn't die, someone found her and she was brought to the hospital half alive. She was still awake when her grandmother came to visit her in tears. She spoke to her grand-child about Jesus, and desperation and so on, in the end the teenager repented of her sins and gave her life to Jesus. Then she died... She had had the time to repent!

They will go "Home" where they came from and where we all return to when we die. Unfortunately if they commit suicide they will arrive dazed and confused, not condemned, just that it will take them longer to get orientated and on with the job of analyzing what they learned in this life and what they wish to pursue in the next. it does inhibit the progression and enlightenment of the soul. IE slows the process.
They will be treated with the same unconditional love as everyone else and helped to see the circumstances of their actions and what they can learn from it
God will not judge them as he/she does not judge anyone elses choices. God loves all unconditionally.

The person dies.
God judges them according to Hebrew 9:27 and either sends angels to take them and escourt them to heaven or allows the Devil to send demons to drag them down to hell.
God makes that decision based on what their relationship was with God thru Jesus during their lifetime.
Church membership or not does not matter.
Church denominaitons also don't matter.
How they died, suicide or not, does not matter.
My answer is based on the Bible and I could spend hour with you going thru the Bible to show every Scripture on this topic, but I can't type that fast.
If you want to talk more, I'll gladly call you on the phone, using my dime.

I've heard they go to hell if they take their lives into their own hands. however there was one minister i saw on tv bill keller of www.liveprayer.com that said he thought someone who committed suicide could go to heaven you can get on his website and email him your question about that for his theory. I believe that noone should commit suicide personally. Too many people are left behind and hurting it isn't worth it to do that to people that love you.

No one knows or can say. If you're Catholic, listen to what Father John Corapi teaches on this subject. You will be surprised.
