Luke 12:33
"Sell your possessions and give to the poor. Provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will not be exhausted, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys."

In Luke 12:33 Jesus is not speaking to a young man, It is in Mark 10:21 that he is speaking to him. Read the context of Luke chapter 12.

Here is the spot where Jesus is speaking to a young man: Mark 10:21

21Jesus looked at him and loved him. "One thing you lack," he said. "Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."

Do you know any Christian denominations that believe that Christians should sell all their possessins? Please name them.

thanks

Many saints of the Catholic Church did exactly that. St. Francis of Assisi, St.Therese, St. Anthony of Padua and tens of thousands of Catholics who take the vow of poverty. All priests and brothers of the Franciscan Order renounce their wealth before being admitted to the Order. I hope this helps you.

Peace and blessings!

I think it's definitely the catholics (nuns and monks) who have followed this part of the Bible, and often they aren't given the credit they deserve for making this kind of sacrifice.

I don't know of any tradition of Christianity that would not welcome such behavior.
