Although Tyson is known to be an animal, Marciano's style was to absorb ten punches for every one that he threw. I'm old enough to remember Marciano, and did some sparring with some of the people who sparred with him.

My Father is also an old timer who remembers Rocky. He's a boxing nut.

His words: Rocky was over rated and no way he would have been competitive with modern heavyweights at 190 lbs.

I see a lot of people stating that Tyson was a brawler. Many forget how good Tyson's defense was. Look at the old film..... Tyson was quick handed, powerful and very technical. We are talking about Tyson having a 30 lbs advantage and losing in his prime. I don't think so.

Tyson started looking human for two reasons:

1. Lack of focus, not the most balanced person out there
2. He started fighting flat footed as a 5'11" heavyweight

The first time Tyson saw someone who had no fear and came straight across the ring at him, he would freak out just long enough for Rocky to knock him out with the first punch. Marciano wins in 14 seconds.

Rocky would have murdered "da bum"!!! As well as as well as any other heavyweight from the 50's,60,s or 70,s! Why, cause Tyson was a brawler. If he was held at arm,s length like Buster Douglas did and forced to 'box, spar, jab,rt upper cut,lt upper cut and someheavy bag work on the ribs ,Tyson was just a brawler. Some guy named Smith who couldn't get a bout with him because of Don King, beat him to a pulp in an alley in The Bronx alleyway next to a bar

Honestly, i think every generation athletes get better. They get bigger, stronger, faster, ect ect. Now i'm not going to use the word prime, because that word is obsolete with Mike Tyson, i'm going to say a young, controlled, focused Tyson would've been able to take Rocky. I don't think boxers from that era along with their stances and styles would do well against a boxer using the peak-a-boo style that Tyson used very well, along with great power and hand speed. I'd go with Tyson.

For the record, Ali KO's Tyson, Formean KO's Tyson, Frazier decisions Tyson, and ALI KO'S ROCKY.

Marciano was a gangsta, I think he would've done OK, but doubt he would've gone the distance.

Tyson in his prime had devastating punches. He was more a fighter than a boxer.
