This Volvo was bought to street rod. Problems finding mechanics to do. Am thinking of using the drive line components out of a chev s10. custom work will be needed. Where to find the mechanical expertise??

Heavy body why not an LS-1 or LS-2 engine Tremec T60 trans and ford 9" rear end? P-1800 coupe or wagon? Retro Rod is more like what your'e trying to do. I don't have time for such a project right now.

This is a Volvo forum where folks gather electronically to discuss all the Volvo models. There are plenty of 1800 guys who subscribe and either have the expertise you seek or know where to get it. That's quite an enthusiastic project you're looking at, lots of modifications to get that drive train to fit and lots more mods to keep the car together with a more powerful engine.
