Im 14 years old. (Male) I want to get in shape this summer. I weigh 153 pounds, 5'7"+ , and, though I'm not obese or visibly fat, im very pudgy and want to get fit and healthy. I have an eliptical machine in my house, and have access to a pool a few times a week. What should I do, and what should I eat? My main goal is to get rid of the fat, not gain muscle stregth. Thank you very much for your suggestions.

Try changing your choice of food and consumption. Remember that food is fuel.. don't over eat.. that's one problem people over weight have. They over eat until they are full or super full and that's just taking in too many calories. You can try the low carb diet, but if your like me I cant stay away from carbs. Try healthier foods, such as something that's not always fried or cooked oily. Cut down on candy and chocolates.. dessert in general.. Never starve yourself because thats really not effective long term weight loss. Eat until you are good but not too full, maybe you can try eating small portions of food and you more often. So you would be eating about 6-7 times a day but in small portions. That way also helps fasten your motabolism. Exercise is key, im not going ot tell you to exercise riggorously because no everyone has that determination to do that. Try doing activities that are fun.. go and take a quick walk with your dog, try to be more active.. and then slowly start exercizing more. get into a regimine maybe workout once a week.. and then start going twice a week and keep going. There a millions of girls out there struggling to be thin.. stay focused and be happy with yourself most importantly

Okay times are different for when I have to be at school and whatever but I will give you what I do every morning and night. (I am 14) - I wake up at 5:30 - I brush my teeth, do my hair, take a shower - 15-45 minutes. If my hair is going to be straightened I do it the night before and quickly fix it in the morning. - Then it is about 6:15 at the latest. I grab breakfast. -Recheck I have all my books and everything, lunch, money, charge my phone, ipod. - Quickly do my chores - washing, dishes - It is then about 7:30 and I have to walk to school or get a lift. At night: - I get home about 3:45 - Try and get half an hour exercise in. - Start on homework or assignments or study for exams until 6:15 - Finish Chores! - Dad comes home and we have dinner - Go back to doing homework - Pack my bag for the next day, put lunch in fridge and money in wallet - Have at least 10 minutes winding down time before I go to bed such as reading or listening to music - I usually go to bed anywhere from 9 ish to 10 ish but last night I was so exhausted I went to sleep at 8:45 at my desk doing my assignments..
