Homosexuality is not ok with God.
God's plan for sexual relationships is His ideal for His Creation. Unfortunately, sin distorts the natural use of God's gifts. Sin not only means denying God but also denying the way we are made.
When people say that any sex act is acceptable as long as nobody gets hurt, they are fooling themselves. In the long run (and often in the short run), sexual sin hurts people, individuals, families, whole societies. Because sex is such a powerful and essential part of what it means to be human, it must be treated with great respect. Sexual desires are of such importance that the Bible gives them special attention and counsels more careful restraint and self-control than with any other desire. In rebellion against God is the rejection of God's guidelines for the use of sex.

Homosexuality (to turn against or abandon natural relations of sex) was as widespread in New Testament times as it is today. God is willing to receive anyone who comes to Him in faith, and Christians should love and accept others no matter what their background. Yet, homosexuality is strictly forbidden in Scripture, God detests this sin, it says in Leviticus 18 v 22. Homosexuality is considered an acceptable practise by many in our world today-even by some churches. But society does not set the standard for God's law. Homosexuals believe that their desires are normal and that they have a right to express them. But God does not encourage us to fulfil all our desires (even normal ones). Those desires that violate His laws must be controlled.

Hi, that's a good question and I'll answer that question from the scriptures since I don't want anyone thinking I'm writing from my own opinion. Also, just beforehand, I don't hate gays. God loves everyone and wants everyone to get to know him. 1. Timothy 2:3,4 'This is fine and acceptable in the sight of our Savior, God, whose will is that all sorts of people should be saved and come to an accurate knowledge of truth.' And John 3:16 says 'For God loved the world so much that he gave his only begotten Son, so that everyone exercising faith might not be destroyed but have everlasting life." So God cares very much for us humans. But notice what 1. Corinthians 6:9-11 says 'Or do you not know not know that unrighteous people will not inherit God's Kingdom? Do not be misled. Those who are sexually immoral, idolaters, adulterers, men who submit to homosexual acts, men who practice homosexuality, thieves, greedy people, drunkards, revilers, and extortioners will not inherit God's Kingdom. And yet that is what some of you were. But you have been washed clean; you have been sanctified; you have been declared righteous in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and with the spirit of our God." So yes, the Bible does say that committing homosexual acts is not ok. But it also says that those who practiced any of these things can change. (Ephesians 4:17-24) Also, this gives us no right to humiliate or call homosexuals names. We should show love to all people. -1. Corinthians 16:14.

Not anywhere in the Bible does it say that homosexuality is bad. The concept/idea of 'homosexuality' did not exist during the time when the scriptures were written. There are lots of historical evidence to suggest that. For example, the stuff that Paul was referring was Greco-Roman pederasty (sex with young boys) -- not homosexuality. Things like these really open up some new questions about issues concerning Biblical interpretation, exegesis, etc. Lay Christians often impose today's culture onto the way they read the Bible --- sadly without knowing it.

Going back to your question, I do not know if God is okay with our modern idea of homosexuality. As a Christian, my philosophy is... if people (Christians or not) claim they know something 100% (and shut down all open theological/religious discussions), their arguments must be questioned/examined.

I don't understand why people say Jesus never said anything about it. Did He not speak of God's righeous judgement of Sodom and Gomorrah?

homophilia, I don't think He minds too much. biology, like all other factors of this world, is imperfect. If you are a homophile, that is just one more temptation you must resist. just like a straight guy has to resist touching up every chick who ain't his wife, or getting sexual pleasure in any way he can. God does not punish us for having feelings or urges. sin is the giving into of sinful urges.

homosexuality is a different story. homosexuality is the lifestyle and the condoning of it. The Bible does make it clear that homosexuality is a sin. it promotes other sins, as well as going against God's design for the holy unity between two people: a husband and wife; a woman and her man.

however, homosexuality is no worse than any other sin.

nature vs lifestyle: pardonable vs immoral

No, homosexuality has never been okay with God, nor will it ever be. Please don't let people flood your minds with things that make homosexuality okay. IT'S NOT!

God flooded the world, during the time of Noah, because people lived this way among many other sins. There was so much sin that was in the world he destroyed it with water.

Then Sodom and Gomorrah was demolished because of homosexuality.

God made a woman for a man. He did not make a man for a man or a woman for a woman.

Everything about homosexuality goes against nature, and I feel that if you engage in this act there is something inside of you that will gnaw at you always. You will know in your heart of hearts that this is wrong.

Don't let the ones that are already engaging in this act push you into something that is very, very wrong. I don't believe you would have asked this questions, if something inside of you didn't already feel like it was wrong.

There are many sins that God will punish you for, and this is definitely one of them.

It doesn't take much reading to know God doesn't approve of it. Jesus either. Otherwise Jesus would have said the destruction of Sodom, Gomorrah and the other cities was wrong. He didn't. He even used them as an example of sin in his teaching. We also know that those cities were destroyed because of their sexual immorality (Jude). When Jesus referred to marriage, it was always referenced as to man and woman. Just the way God invented it. What we call homosexuality today was considered taboo in the culture they were in so it never had to be directly addressed. It was understood to be wrong. Our society is different at this time but for some reason we just don't understand the differences between them and us today. Even in our society it has only been the last 40-50 years where it is openly debated. Years ago the issue was never discussed as a viable option. It was considered wrong - just like it was in the culture of the time Jesus walked the earth. The last point is that if Jesus was sent from God, was God in human form, why didn't he condemn the destruction of cities known to the inhabitants of that region that were previously sexually perverse? (Ham's descendants) Jesus never rebuked God the Father.

I don't know what bibles people are reading, but God's Word is very clear that homosexuality is "unacceptable." This is a dead horse that people keep beating and I'm sure the closer time draws to Jesus' return this issue will escalate even more until Jesus sets things right, and He will.

No , Homosexuality is not ok with God. How do I know that? the only way I know anything.. to check with His word and see what HE says, and He is clear that it is sin, must be repetned of, turned from, to be forgiven. But GOd is eager to forgive us all. Most dont want healing, but it is possible. ITs a curse of LUST. and it can be broken by the blood of Jesus Christ. Many have had deliverance over this, so if it couldnt be changed, there would be NO one that had gave it up, right? and scientists and gays can argue all they want. What God says is true, and HE says it is an abomination to Him and leads to death and hell. the same as any other sin, as adultry, fornication, stealing, lying, all of it. sin is sin, and we dont all want to ehar it Rebellious ppl dont want rebuke. Only thost that truly love the Lord love rebuke as it leads to change and an even closer walk with the Lord.
Noone knows but God what sin is and if we KNOW His word , we would all know what sin is, and this is only one of the ones listed. Press on with JESUS.

God didn't become PC 45 yrs ago.
Nowhere ( I repeat NOWHERE) does God say He accepts homosexuality.
OT and NT has many places where it is condemned as sin.
bible support=0
a person can't ignore what they don't like in the bible and what God said in it and say it says it is against it in all these places but says nothing condemning in the others. Therefore the others support what I want to believe and are correct.
(I have seen this "logic" by some anti-bible,anti-christians).

The modern arguments in favor of homosexuality have been insufficient to overcome the evidence that HOMOSEXUAL BEHAVIOR is against divine and natural law, as the Bible and the Church, as well as the wider circle of Jewish and Christian (not to mention Muslim) writers, have always held.

The Catholic Church thus teaches: "Basing itself on sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity, tradition has always declared that homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered. They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved" (Catechism of the Catholic Church 2357).

However, the Church also acknowledges that "[homosexuality’s] psychological genesis remains largely unexplained. . . . The number of men and women who have deep-seated homosexual tendencies is not negligible. This inclination, which is objectively disordered, constitutes for most of them a trial. They must be accepted with respect, compassion, and sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should be avoided. These persons are called to fulfill God’s will in their lives and, if they are Christians, to unite to the sacrifice of the Lord’s cross the difficulties that they may encounter from their condition.

"Homosexual persons are called to chastity. By the virtues of self-mastery that teach them inner freedom, at times by the support of disinterested friendship, by prayer and sacramental grace, they can and should gradually and resolutely approach Christian perfection" (CCC 2357– 2359).

Paul comfortingly reminds us, "No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your strength, but with the temptation will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Cor. 10:13).

Homosexuals who want to live chastely can contact Courage, a national, Church-approved support group for help in deliverance from the homosexual lifestyle.
