My wife and I were talking about this last night. Anyone ever heard that the devil was the angel of music or words to that effect.
We've both heard people say that but I couldn't remember any scriptures that said that.
Does anyone know where that came from?

Yes. It comes from Ezekiel 28:13...the workmanship of your settings & sockets was in you. If you study these two words "settings" & "sockets" it means tambourines or flutes. In other words, when he moved or spoke, he made music. He was the worship leader of Heaven.
Why do you think G-d inhabits the praises of His people? Why do you think worshippers are frequently winning the battles?

Hey Ray, the citations that you named not only do NOT mention Music in any CLOSE manner, they don't even mention the devil. You're just throwing names and numbers out to "impress people" and haven't even READ your Bible.
As for anyone being the Angel of Music, I rather doubt it. If, as you Christians clam" God created everythiing, then the range of sounds that we have called "music" are ALSO his creation. SOME folks have MIS-used music for wicked purposes and SOME have put those sounds together to make some of the MOST beautiful sounds that I've ever heard.
I may BE a Wiccan but, I too can read and I DO have a Bible in my house and I have READ it cover to cover many times. I may NOT believe it as the "revealed word of God" but I DO find it both infomative and uplifting. That's the Difference between Wiccans and Chrisitans, WE belive that you can find enlightenment in ALL sorts of places. YOU only believe that you can find it ONLY in the Bible. Such an outlook deprives you of more beauty and understanding than you truly realize.

Some concerned Christians believed that if you played Ozzy Osbourne's record backward then you would hear the voice of the Devil himslef. Suprisingly it turned out to be a hoax. Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys was quoted as saying that there is God in music. Listen to Pet Sounds to remove any doubt.

At Bible study I found out that Lucifer(satan) was a very powerful angel, maybe even higher than an archangel. I'd hate to hear the kind of music he made if he was the angel of music.

No, the devil is author of discord not harmony and of ugliness not beauty. The angels of Heaven play music to the Lord.

Satan was created as a holy angel. Isaiah 14:12 possibly gives Satan’s pre-fall name as Lucifer. Ezekiel 28:12-14 describes Satan as having been created a cherubim, and was apparently the highest created angel. He became arrogant in his beauty and status, and decided he wanted to sit on a throne above that of God (Isaiah 14:13-14; Ezekiel 28:15; 1 Timothy 3:6). Satan’s pride led to his fall. Notice the many “I will…” statements in Isaiah 14:12-15. Because of his sin, God threw Satan out of heaven
