Here's one homemade deep conditioner:
Shiny Soft Hair Treatment
In a small bowl, mash and combine: 1 avocado (1/2 for shorter hair)
1 egg yolk
1/2 teaspoon olive oil
Apply to hair and allow to remain 30 minutes or longer, then shampoo and condition as usual. Amazingly silky, shiny, soft hair!

Also, run a tiny drop of jojoba oil through your hair. Jojoba oil is non-comedogenic, washes out easily & will add a bit of sheen so it's a great leave in conditioner.

Brush your hair before shampooing and conditioner so your hair won't be tangeled.
Don't wash your hair everyday try 3 times a week
Avoid combing hair while wet, use a wide tooth comb.
Deep condition twice a week
Trim your hair tips every 4-6 weeks.
While shampooing massage your scalp with your fingertips slowly, it's not necessary to shampoo the ends, then rinse with warm water.
When using a conditioner leave on for about 1-3 minutes so you can get great results then comb hair with wide tooth comb then rinse with very cold water to have shiny hair
If you use gel/hairspray/moose stop using them. They damage and dry up your hair.
If you use heat appliaces (blowdryers, curling irons, hair straightener) use a heat protecter spray so it'll protect your hair from heat.
If your in the sun alot buy a cap or a hoodie to protect your hair from the sun, heat damages and drys out your hair.
Buy a leave-in-conditioner/leave-in conditioner/creme to moisturize your hair all day long and don't rinse.
After your out of the shower set your blowdryer on cool setting and blowdryer your hair for 2 minutes, this will help seal the hair cuticles for a smooth shiny surface.
If you dye your hair do it atleast once a year, hair dye has terrible chemicals that kill your hair.

Get all the split ends trimmed, get a trim about every 6 weeks in you can. Then, when you shower, put Pantene Shampoo (the stuff meant for colored hair works best because it's stronger) all in your hair, by the roots too, and then let it sit for 3-5 minutes. Do this everytime but don't reach the roots every time. Or else your hair will start to look greasy.

'Sally's beauty supply' has alot of great products to help with your hair drama. Your right, straightening hair definatly damages it. Try a deep conditioner that you'd get for about $1 at Sally's.
If you don't want to spend the time to deep condition it, I would suggest asking one of the associates at the store, they're very helpful and know what they're talking about. Good luck!

i have the same problem because during the winter and school i always heat damage my hair. First if you havent gotten a trim recently that could help, but if u are like me I hate cuttting my hair. I but a heavy duty leave in conditioner(usually the ones for a specific hair color. and without wetting it smother your hair with it and leave it in as long as you can I usually tan with it in than rinse it out and wash it. The best thing todo is avoid the heat products when you can and wash your hair everyother day, OR BUY A CERAMIC GOOD STRAIGHTENER

i would get a stronger heat damage prevention product or get it at your salon...it might be a little more expensive but it is worth it and is more professional than the ones you buy at just a regular store for a couple bucks..or you could try conditioner. conditioners are specifically for putting moisture back into your hair!-I recommend pantene!

once a week put a little bit of olive oil on ur hair and leave it on 4 15 min., then wash it off.
OR,
2 times a month put mayonaise all over your hair, leave it on 4 a while, then wash it off.
yes, i know it sounds gross, but it REALLY works.

same thing happened to me. i went to a salon and they recomended a conditioner, 'humectress moisturizing conditioner' by nexxus. it works fantastic and showed results right after use. i would recomend it also, you can find it at a salon and i'm not sure about sephora or a drug store.
