Yes, my beliefs helped me cope, but it still took a couple years and a lot of sadness before I was better. I had to take medication for awhile so I could think more clearly and calmly, and I had to make some other changes in my life (work with my prayers). But my belief and trust in God, and seeing how He helped me in different ways even though I was still sad a lot, kept me alive. Sometimes I couldn't even pray, I could only cry, but I trusted that God understood what I was feeling. I think He was able to use the depression for good in the end, because now I am so much better off than before.

Yes, I suffered from depression after doctor number 8 in 10 years told me I'd never have a child, that it was impossible.
I got so depressed, my husband made me quit my job and stay home, he was very worried about me. I had burnout on the job anyway, so it was a good move for me. I stopped eating and moped around the house all day, and lost a bunch of weight.
But it gave me a chance to get back into the Word, and I spent a lot of time reading, especially the story of Sarah and her problems. It helped me to get to the level where I could accept whatever God gave me in this life, and just when I started to get back out of the house again .... I got pregnant lol.

My boyfriend suffers from depression. He's using counseling to work his way out. If he's using his beliefs, he has not mentioned it to me.
I have experienced bouts of depression following some traumatic experiences in my life. I used books, my family, and the goodness in people around me to claw my way out. My stance as an agnostic had little to do with it.

Yes, I suffered from depression following a murder in my family. My beliefs didn't help me much nor did counselling.
What helped was two things: getting on an anti-depressant for about 6 months and making lifestyle changes (going for walks outside every day, joining volunteer organizations).

I've been quite depressed, to the point of being disabled. Beliefs helped, but it takes more than that. One of the best tools I've found is EFT, or Emotional Freedom Techniques.

I was depressed three years ago when we moved from IL to MO. I had lived surrounded by friends and family my whole life. Suddenly, I was in the middle of nowhere with only my mother, father and brother. I knew no one else, and the culture was much different. I spent weeks alone in a room I saw a prison. I was upset at myself, my family and my God for bringing me to this isolation. Yet, as I literally cried out to God, He drew close to me.He is so good to me, and I love Him so much!

Yes. 1997. Clinically diagnosed. Eventually my spiritual life helped - - but only after 6 months of therapy and Welbutrin. Thank God!

Yes i have depression and yes God helps me. David,Job, and Saul also had depression also. We are all human beings, and yes we go through different emotions in life. We just have to depend on God in all things, and He will take care of us.

Only my beliefs got me out. I took no meds but it took alot of time, i connected with God finally and with nature. It was a bumpy ride though but smells good to be here. There is peace of mind finally!

I have a long history of depression. I went through a period where I wanted God to help me so bad, but of course he didn't. I don't believe He gets involved with us here.
I am going through another difficult period now and it is friends that are helping me, as well as a doctor.
