Isn't that akin to qouting Harry Potter to prove magic or threatening the pope with the Da Vinci Code?

I'm not attacking Jesus. I could care less about Jesus. But I hate when people ask stupid questions like "How do you reconcile that with the Bible?" Well mainly because I don't believe in the bible LOL

Well Angel the thing is I think the Bible is fiction too. Hence the comparisons. I generally don't care if you believe it. I care when you insult my intelligence. And I don't need anyone to carry me out of a burning house but the firemen. Thanks.

Now how can you NOT believe it when it says right in there that it's true?
I don't get it either. They believe it, that's fine. But why can't they understand that not everyone does - or wants to?

It ain't a myth! On Sunday a car salesman attacked me with Jesus for a good 10 minutes during the test drive. I told him I was an Atheist right at the beginning but he just went on and on - not knowing what else to do.

It is people's way to say they are superior to you they in their mind are actually putting you down and you should have every right to tell them to go and be a nuisance to their own kind. I really like the use Harry Potter to prove that magic exists line very good point.

Why do people keep throwing Dawin at people who don't believe a word of it?
Seriously, why keep trying to bring other people to your way of thinking?
Why should the pope feel threatened by the Da Vinci Code? Even Dan Brown admmitted that it was fiction.
I can't talk about You-Know-Who...not till I've had a chance to read the last book...

You need to duck! Here it comes.
2 Corinthians 4:3-5; But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
In whom the god of this world (Satan) hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake.
I knew a preacher once who couldnt preach while looking at the congregation. It would make him nervous and studder! Then, one day he noticed, in the very back of the church are a set of doors with door knobs.
He then started calling himself a door knob preacher - saying, He would preach at the door knobs. And if something bounces off and hits you. It wasnt his fault.
We dont throw the Bible, thats just the way you see it. But, we do it in the event that something is said or read, that might bounce off and hit you.
You see. There isnt one born again believer today. Who was born a follower of Jesus. We all at one time or another was in the same place as you, with our non-belief! But, then, one day something was said, and the Holy Spirit of God went to work on the heart and that day - A Believer Was Born (Again)

I think it's more like what I call the "Fox News Syndrome". If they tell you how fair and balanced Fox News is enough times, you might start to believe it. Same with the bible thumpers. They think if they tell you the same stuff over and over, you might come to their way of thinking.

Because they, in their opinion, are doing what they are supposed to be doing. Their religion tells them to spread the word of God. Even if they can not convince you to believe, they are helping save themselves by preaching the word of God. Honestly I don't think they mean any harm. They believe in it stongly. It's hard to see other peoples opinions sometimes when you are so set in your ways. At least they are trying to "save" you, though obviously that's not what you want.

i think that might be a myth. i've never seen that happen before, and i've been in a lot of situations where i could have had a lot of new testaments flying at me if people actually did that. but none of them ever came.

If your house was on fire in the middle of the night & I came busting thru the door, carrying you out to save you (which I would do, by the way), would you later ask me... "why didn't you knock?" ?
Sorry that it offends U that we love U!!
