No, I would not likely give my life to save a stranger. My beliefs are that I do not have an afterlife and that my wife our baby on the way and my 16 month old need me more than they need that stranger.

"Greater love has no man that he who gives his life for a friend."
God however has enough love to die for his enemies.
".... for while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
I hope I could die for a stranger, the truth is that I cannot say for sure unless I was actually put in that situation. But my belief is that yes, I would.

yes, i believe i would...i spent 4 years in the army, committed to doing just that if necessary...there's no way of knowing for sure in advance, but i do believe that i would...do my beliefs have any influence on my answer? yes-Christ taught that there is no greater love than to lay down your life for your brother...but i don't think that a belief in Christ is necessary in order to be willing to do that...

Yes, I think I would.
John 15:13 "Greater love has no one than this,
that he lay down his life for his friends."
I think of "friends" as meaning anyone else, not just people that we know quite well.
