Okay, well im redecorating my bedroom. I have an Idea of what i'd like to do. But one of my main focuses are the tops of my dresser, armoire, and night tables. (things to put on them) I'd like a classic, clean cut, girlie looks, with a lot of white, and silver things. Some things i have thought about putting on my dressers and things are: white candles, clear glass vase with white flowers, shiny silver trays to display perfume, and prehaps a neck manniquin display to put pearls on. Im wondering where to buy stuff to get my idea to come to life, here are some pics (elements) of what i want the tops of my dresser, and armoire, and night tables to look like.

i want flowers like this, don't know what they are called, and i love white tulips

The flowers are hydrangeas, probably fresh cut. I'm sure they make silk ones that would look just as good.

You can probably get anything and everything you want at your local antique mall or flea market. I sell the glass perfume trays for about $10, as well as old perfume bottles. You could get a vintage jewelry box (some are very pretty!) for next to nothing. Lamps can be had for as little as $10-15 too.

My dresser holds an old floral lamp, 2 dresser trays with perfume bottles, and a small glass tray. I also use doilies to prevent scratches on the furniture. On my chest of drawers, I have an antique kerosene lamp with a hand painted shade my mother painted, and framed photos of my grandkids. On my standing cedar chest, I have another small lamp, and photos of my parents (one of my dad when he was 3, in 1925).

There are endless possibilities what type of "collection" you choose to display!

If you have a spacious room, then it's practical to have a free standing wall in a bold colour. I suggest you use rich expensive wall paper instead of painting. The accessories must be a great match to the colour. But if your room is the typical British room, then I suggest you use a rich bold painting which will hang to cover at least 50% of this one wall. It must also be a real outstanding and unique piece with good value. If you don't find anything, then make your own. Find a good fabric and staple around a frame like you know what I mean...
