Since "Christian" means "little Christ", it follows that to be a Christian would imply that you believe what Jesus believed. And He claimed to be the Son of God. If you delve into the Bible, you'll see that none of the prophets claimed to be on equal footing with God. So Jesus was either crazy, a liar, or the Son of God. It's up to you to decide which.

You can agree with the precepts He taught..
And you can even "call yourself a Christian"...
But none of that will make you a Christian, any more than a coat of paint will make this old house of mine a palace.
OH, it'll look real good on the outside, for sure. But inside, the wiring will still be old, and the plumbing will still be cranky.
Ahh, well...
Good try, though!

I'd say you're halfway there.

This begs the question. Why call yourself "Christian" at all? You DON'T believe in "jesus and hes religion," at least not in the way that practically all "Christians" do, so what's the point.

"Gnosticism" is another matter altogether. "Gnostic Christianity" is just Gnosticism that uses a Christian symbology. The (pseudo-)historical characters and incidents of the "gospel story" are taken for elements of an hieratic fable, an allegory of the mystic path. But I doubt that's what you were talking about...lol.

You could call yourself that. But it wouldn't be true.
Jesus is the Son of God.... Jesus is the Savior... and Christianity does not exist without the Person Jesus.

You can call yourself a chicken but that doesn't make it so! Try reading Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis or Case for Christ by Lee Stroebel. In no way did he not meet the prophecies and he even said he was... and Noah never came back from the dead to tell his cowering apostles to get of their buts and tell it to the world!

I don't get why people are calling you "unchristian". That is just one belief in the many beliefs that Christians have. You still believe in the Christian god and you like him, so doesn't that make you a Christian? That's all you really need to define your religion.

To be a christian you must think Jesus is the savior.

I suppose you could still call yourself christian, but I'm pretty sure there is a specific religion for that. I'm not really sure what it is called.

Lot's of people believe that or that he was a mystic (visionary-experienced God directly) but that the cult and deification of him is not exactly the real message he was trying to bring forth
