I'd like to get married on the beach with a few family members and close friends present, and then have a reception possibly at a restaurant on the beach or sound. I don't want to spend more than $1000 though! Is this feasible? Does anyone know of any locations in NC? Any ideas and suggestions would be greatly appreciated ~ Thanks!

I live on an island in southern NC (Oak Island, southeast of Wilmington), and we have weddings here daily, it seems. You can rent a smaller beachhouse during the off-season for much cheaper than the summer. You can have a caterer come, have some simple flowers, and do all of this for about 1000 for 20 or so people.
There are also a couple of restaurants on the beach that have receptions, too. Very reasonable prices.

How much is a few? For that amount I would think you'd have to have a reception at home or a teeny guest list. At least in my area.
