Some confusing in the last one, i am FOR tattoos. Relgion says no marks or cuts FOR THE DEAD. also says, no mirrors or piercings. No interracial marriage. No pork. You may not wear a garment made of two different fabrics. And, my fave, if a man is troubled GIVE HIM A STRONG DRINK!!!
But, so why are tattoos, body piercings and body modifacations so frowned upon?

The examples you gave are from the Old Testament. when Jesus came, died and was resurrected, it moves us into the New Testament, which is the one we're now supposed to live by. God doesn't care whats on or in,(in the case of piercings) our bodies.. its what you have in your heart that counts. I have four tatts and am a Sunday School teacher.....having tatts doesn't make your faith or love for God any less, so really, as long as we are doing His will, what does it matter whats on the outside?

If the tattoo is clean and doesn't disgrace the human form than it is ok. Many people get tattoo's to start up a conversation about their religion, to get the word of Jesus out there. Many are very traditional and believe that any tattoo and piercing is disgraceful.

What do you mean "Religion says..."? Since when do all religions follow the Old Testament?

And where does it say these are cuts "for the dead"? Have you read the whole thing in context? How about the NIV translation?

Darling, all of that comes from Leviticus. The Book of Leviticus is specifically for Levite Priests.

None of use are that.

It's a Christian thing. No possibility of getting an ID reading "666" on your forehead or hand.

Also -- why would you want to get a permanent mutilation for the sake of what might be a temporary fad?

God hates them. Tatoos are sinful but Jesus will forgive you if you simply ask.
