I think my cat has worms again--he loves to hunt squirrels, mice birds, snakes and rabbits. How often can you give your cat praziquantel ( the tape worm medicine)--also do I need to give him round worm med. too? Or without knowing if he has it or not, what is the recommended dosage for felines on a yearly basis?

Thanks!

My cat is an outdoor/indoor cat--no chance in converting him at this point--And, I know he has worms--same syptoms as before--he's had all his necessary shots and everything--and no--these animals are not getting in my house--I'm 99.9% sure that it's worms--we've dealt with this before--just want to find out dosages from someone who knows about this stuff.

you might want to call someone if all of these animals are getting in your house.

If you call the vet, they will be happy to talk to you and answer your questions. Mine just had me stop by an for $6 got a shot and all was good. I have a champion hunter as well. If you want to do some research, learn about this, and a lot of interesting things at these GREAT sites:

Please call the vet and check with them before administering any kind of medicine to make sure he has the worms. You might not even have to bring your cat in, they may just allow you to bring in a stool sample if he has been seen by them before and treated for worms by them before. Check with the vet's office first.

well i have cats and i dont have to give them worm treatment on a yearly basis or ever basis...you keep your cat indoors and you wont have to worry about your cat having worms...also any dosage questions should be directed to your vet they will know the proper dosage for your cat's weight

Please take you cat to the vet and find out EXACTLY what is going on with him. You want to treat him for something specific, not give him medication that he may not even need!

Call the vet and ask. And also, please keep your cat indoors then it has less chance of getting diseases and other problems.
