The Bible claims that Jesus was born in Judea in the time of King Herod and that his parents went to Bethlehem for his birth because of a Roman census.

In reality, the first Roman census of Judea didn't occur until about 10 years after Herod died and it would have required Mary and Joseph to stay in Nazareth instead of traveling to Bethlehem.

I cant.

While there are several incredible events described in the Bible that would seem unbelievable by todays standards we cannot prove conclusively that none of it happened. Likewise if some of those things happened today then they could possibly be described by science. In fact I'm sure I read somewhere that the field of science originally started as a Christian (or religious) construct designed to examine the works of God.

There is plenty of historical fact in the Bible, and even scientific fact some of it only discovered to be true after the fact or even after it was thought the Bible was in contradiction to modern opinion.

Genesis gets the most flack for being among the most way out verses in the Bible as what it describes is simply incredible. Our minds simple have trouble conceiving or thinking back to a time when we and our universe didn't exist.

Whatever anyone says as to the origins of everything sounds equally erroneous because we cannot imagine existence as anything other than it is at present.

Although I guess if you wanted to be pedantic you could say revelations isn't true since half of it hasn't happened yet that we know of......

Deuteronomy - 14:21
You may not have as food anything which has come to a natural death; the man from another country who is living with you may take it for food, or you may get a price for it from one of another nation; for you are a holy people to the Lord your God.

Can't this be called racism ?

Was Adam and Eve created at the same time or separately?

Oh yeah - and wasn't Jesus supposed to return within the lifetime of his buddies ?

There might be one or two more.

Genesis chapter one: God created man and woman at the same time.

Genesis chapter two: God created man first and then woman out of man's spare parts.

They can't both be right. Not to mention that this whole myth of creation is not literally true to begin with.

er....real places in a book don't make it 'true'.

Do you know how many of my romance novels happened in scotland or england? Does that make them true stories?
