whenever you start increasing your exercises you're going to go through periods of extreme pain. That's just the way it works.
Here's a tip to help with the pain. Take a hot bath with 2c. of dissolved Epsom salts. Soak for 30 minutes. The Epsom salts will help eliminate the lactic acid that forms on the muscles from over exertion.
Massage an analgesic cream into the sore muscles.
Dehydration can cause severe pain in the muscles. I recommend you drink purified water mixed with mineral water 50/50. This will replace the minerals that are exiting your body continuously.
500mg of calcium and magnesium, taken twice daily, can help with diminishing the pain.

The muscles in your leg can be tender and sore from over exercise, but one of the main causes for pains in the legs is overweight. The body is sometimes too heavy for the legs to carry around.

You probably used muscles that you weren't used to using...Hot baths, ice packs and maybe some BENGAY...in a few days you'll feel better and stratch your muscles out when you decide to exercise again and work up to a full workout don't go full force...

If you just started this exercise routine that's why. Your body's not used to it, yet.
If you drink caffeine (coffee or pop) during hot summer days it will dehydrate you and can cause your muscles to cramp up and/or hurt.

Sometimes when you don't stretch well enough before exercising, your muscles hurt for days after...too much strain on your muscles? I dunno. But usually, they'll go away after a couple of days~ I'm sure it's completely natural!
