Reading many comments here I get the feeling that many people under 25 are already married and for e.g. Germany that seems to be quite young...

The most recent study has found that in North America, the average age for marriage is the highest it's ever been - 26. As one answerer did mention, a lot of girls get married younger who are from smaller towns, or rural areas. City people tend to marry after their mid-20s. Also, most women wait til they are done their post-secondary education and have started on a career.
(To anonymous, you're not alone .... my dad was 52 as well and my mom 45 when they had my younger brother, their sixth kid.)

Nowadays, here in the US, 25 is considered young for marriage. With more people going to college and with the costs of living going up, people are waiting to get married. From my experience, people are getting married between 28-35.

I think what you are seeing on Yahoo! Answers is that the ones answering questions, who marry at a young age, live in small towns, where that tends to happen more than in major cities.

I think it depends which country in Europe you're referring to. I used to live in Poland and at 24/25, was considered an "old spinster" to my Polish friends. They all felt very sorry for me not being married, as 21 and unmarried in Poland is considered pretty strange and uncommon. But, Poland is a very religious country so that could make the difference.

I'm now almost 27 and all but 4 of my female friends are married. Two of us are in long-term, to-be-married relationships and the other two are single. I think the average age in Canada to get married is about 27.

Yes, many people get married at about 25. That's not THAT young, it's just right. It's bad to wait too long. But then again, my dad was 52 when he fathered me. Hint: it isn't a good idea; I do not recommend it in the least. I just think it's interesting to note, because it's so unusual. Good night!

Yes, but you guys date more casually then we do. When we date its for long periods of time. Were more religious (not saying you guys aren't) So, people are in a rush to get married if you know what I meen. But, we really don't get married that much younger than you guys.

it depends...many affluent people in america that have european ancestry are in fact getting married older just like in europe (or japan for that matter)...but if you look at our not so affluent immigrant class (or first generation americans) it is easy to see that many get married younger and have many more children than their euro-american counterparts...

since 2000, brown people...(asian, hispanic, and african-americans) are outpopulating white people in the United States by a staggering 5 to 1, as reported in the figures from the united nations population division report from 2005. this is causing the brown minority to catch up to the white majority (it already has in a few states). By the year 2050 the white americans will in fact, be the minority because they will consist of less than fifty percent of the total population of america.

a brown america is coming...
