Funerals are meant as a means of closure for living. I would prefer to be cremated (more earth friendly), but my family may want to see my actual body.
At my grandfather's funeral, some of my cousins sang "His Hands" - a song encouraging us to use our hands in service like the Lord did. This was very appropriate considering the life my grandfather lead.

I am a spirit, I live in a body, and I have a soul. My spirit shall never perish because I have Jesus as my Lord and Savior. If this body should pass away, then there will be a day when it shall arise from the dead. Many years ago I went through two combat zones so my gravestone and such are taken care of If I pass away before Jesus return.

Hello,
Yes I have. The handles can be brass or galvinized metal and a dark grey covered coffin.
As for music, I have specifically stated in my will that any great tunes will do but for the sake of Christ, DO NOT PLAY AMAZING GRACE! Sigh, it is over done and over played so much.
Regards,
Michael Kelly

I'm not Christian so I won't answer for myself, but my 80 year old grandmother, who IS Christian, has chosen "Cotton-Eyed Joe" for her music. She wants everyone to dance and have a good time because she always considers any time we all get together as a family as a time to celebrate.

Sure have. I instructed my wife to have me cremated and put in a Mason Jar.
Won't need any music or words, I won't be there anyway.

Nope..... But for a song, maybe "Going Under" by This Beautiful Republic.... or perhaps "Undying" by Demon Hunter...... "After the World" by Disciple perhaps.

Are Christians the only ones who plan for the future? Are we the only ones who are good stewards with our time?

No, but I've chosen the saying on my tombstone:
"I'll be back!"
