I don’t believe a word of it. God would not do that and the only people who think he would are fundamentalist Christians who are virtually no different from the Taliban if they had their way.
Any god that plays a cruel game for thousands of years in that one must believe what some ancient person wrote (who knew nothing of how the world works) and if they do not they will go to eternal damnation.
Who would want to be in ‘heaven’ with such a cruel being?

Hello Fell On Black Days.. :)

Judges that put murders, thieves etc. in jail for life are cruel beings too..No, because they are following the Law..

We are the ones that have to pay for our own crimes..we alone should pay the penalty for killing another person, stealing etc..we have no excuse when we go before the Judge..

I guess we could tell the Judge that we thought he was a cruel person because he was sending us to prison, (even though we had been told and warned ahead of time..to follow the Law)..

===============================================

I cannot see any difference in our worldly Laws and the Laws of God..

If you are found guilty of committing a crime you have to pay the price.. :(

==============================================

But if you want forgiveness that men cannot give, you can ask Jesus into your heart..He gave the His life for yours..
The Lord has paid the price for all of your sins..

The "Judge" will forgive you of All your past crimes and you will become a new creature in Christ..the old man is passed away behold all things become new..Your eyes shall be opened to the Truth, the Truth shall set you Free and then you will be Free Indeed.. :)

May the Lord Bless you and your loved ones and Keep you All Safe..

In Jesus Most Precious Name..
With Love..In Christ.. :)

You are correct! Jeremiah 7:31 is talking about a bunch who sacrificed babies to an idol. God says it was something he never commanded or even thought of. It was detestable to Him.

The Bible tells the true condition of the dead in Eccles. 9:5,6,10. They have no thoughts. Can do no works. Can feel no pain or pleasure. If they can feel nothing, they can't be tortured.

This is some of the false teachings rampant today. People just accept what they are told as long as it comes from someone with a funny collar.

Be like the Beroeans. Paul himself was talking to them but, "they eagerly examined the Scriptures to see whether these things were true." How much more should you check out someone today who dresses funny?

It would be hard to judge God when you don't know God.
I personally do not judge him but know that he is absolute righteousness.
The law does condemn sinners to death and a righteous God did pay that penalty of death for all who accept it.

Edit those who love the truth and seek him can become the children of God through the atonement all of mankind are not God's children.

Rest assured that God' s children will not be tortured for eternity. But I can't make the same statement concerning those who are not God's children.

I agree. The whole "tortured for eternity" thing sounds more like a sales pitch for Evangelicals than a valid religious philosophy.

I am positive that if God does exist, he is nothing like the God described above.

To be a Child of God you have to Admit,Believe, and Confess that you are a sinner, and be saved by Jesus Christ. So God does not send his children to an eternity of torture.

your first issue is that you don't believe. God did not torture us or any one else we allowed our flesh to over rule God will in our lives. God has given us free will to chose him or to reject him and in all reality we chose to live with out God. Jesus died with all great belief that one day we will all seek salvation and we eventually do and we beg for forgiveness. what the people of those days knew what they knew for them days we know what we know for these days times and life is still what we chose to make of it and how we chose to live. there is no game the cruelty is in our own actions.
it is all about the chooses you and i make in our lives we can't blame God because we mess up and live in destruction. i believe God is a loving and great in all he has done you just need to see open your heart your mind and soul to Jesus and see how you will see things in a different light.
Give God a chance to live in you before you make a decision.
Jesus loves always even now while your in doubt.

the thing you have to think about is that God did not make the world like this. The bible tells us that God walked around with Adam and Eve before they sinned.
but since man sinned we brought this punishment upon ourselves. We should be thankful that we have a way to avoid this punishment, meaning Jesus Christ.

this is the best answer i have ever gotten for this question. God is a loving father who wants us to be happy and have what we want in life and in death, hence our free will. Now if all throughout our lives we chose to be away from God then though it may pain God to do it he allows them to live for eternity away from him because that is what they chose so therefor that must be what makes them happy.
