It's definitely in the big top five Blue. I love Manchester Tart which is a close cousin, It's a pastry case spread with a thin layer of raspberry jam, sliced bananas and then cold custard poured on top when luke warm and left until the custard sets.
I would have both in my fav list plus rice pudding with nutmeg skin from cooking in the oven.

well its great if the bannanas are freash.damaged bananas dont make it look as good .And the custard has to be enough to leave a thickish coating on the back of a spoon before you add the bananas.some people like it warm i prefer it cold.chocolate puddle pudding is my favoret dessert any way.

I like bananas and I love custard but strangely enough I can't stand the taste of them both together.

Yummy, if fresh home-made custard (not the shop-bought kind) with fresh cream stirred in, then poured over bananas previously baked in rum and brown sugar. A small dollop of very creamy, soft vanilla ice-cream goes well with this. I am starting to feel peckish just thinking about it!

My old man does, but do you like the custard poured over banana or banana cooked in with the custard, he likes it cooked.

Nearly but not quite. I had a great meal out not so long ago in a wee country inn which is renowned for it's good food. They served caramalised barbequed bananas with fresh homemade vanilla ice cream. I didn't want to leave!!MMMMMMM!
It was the best pud I've tasted so far & I worked in a 2* Michelin for a few years.
Sometimes simple is best though eh!

I have had custard plain, but never with banana. I am going to try them together. Sounds very good.
