I have a dog, he's about 50 pounds, and he just now threw up 3 times. I just fed him, and his puke seems to be unchewed food and some kind of brown liquid. Now he keeps licking his lips and panting. Whats wrong with him? He's never done this before, hasn't gotten into anything dangerous that I know of. Whats wrong? I just checked, I don't think he's in shock, other than this he seems to be fine. Now he's eating it. Should I stop him? It looks just like his food when it went in.

He's not quite 2 years old, and he only threw up today. He's stopped now and seems just fine. His gums seem to be their normal color, and didn't change when pressed lightly.

My dog always used to pant when she thew up. And her throw up always looked like a big pile of wet soggy dog food. It was usually because she ate some grass or something when she was outside. He's probably ok - but if he continues to throw up after 24 hours you should take him to the vet.
He could have just thrown up before the food got digested. That even happens to humans (not to be gross but I'm sure you know what I'm talking about)

If he vomits up again then take the food away. Just make sure he has water. Sometimes a tummy upset is simply a tummy upset not a big deal. Give him some time and try again around in 4+ hours. If he continues to vomit, see the vet tomorrow and have him checked.

Excessive salivation and panting indicate stress.
Don't let him eat the vomit! A dust pan should do a nice job of picking up the worst of it; tie it in a plastic bag and put it in the trash out of his reach.
Take all food away and allow nothing but water for 24 hours. If he is still vomiting after 24 hours, RUSH TO THE VET! If not, then follow the vomiting diet below:

Okay first off chill. Don't panic. Has he been vomiting just today? He may not have taken time to chew his food. How old is he? Keep an eye on him and if he continues to vomit call your vet. It is possible he ate poop sometime today and the liquid could be brown from that. Or he could be obstructed. Call your Vet if he continues. But, no I would not let him eat it.

OK! You have to take it to the vet. She or he will probally tell you it is a virus. Try have it trink more water. Don't keep refilling it's food after it eats. And panting usally means it's thirsty. You dog is probally dehyrated. Also tke it for walks 2 or 3 times a day (so it urinates and poops more so it doesn't get a infection)
HOPE YOUR DOG FEELS BETTER!!:) I'll pray for you and your dog

My dog does that when he eats too fast and doesn't chew his food. He will throw up one big log of unchewed food. Gross. I found that putting a little out more often stopped this because he wasn't so hungry when I fed him.

Don't worry- for one thing, dogs always eat their own vomit. He may just have an upset stomach (dogs frequently vomit several times in a row). Just don't feed him until tomorrow because by putting more food in his stomach, bacteria may grow faster, causing him to vomit again. If it keeps up or he starts acting lethargic or abnormal, take him to the vet.

Dogs get upset stomachs like people do, some dogs digestive tracts are very sensitive. Our dog takes Pepcid on a daily basis, to control her dry heaving and vomiting. You can also give Pepto Bismol, following directions on bottle for weight, probably child size dose. If you go with Pepcid, give two tablets daily for a week, then reduce it to one daily.

Sounds like poisoning of some kind or it could be a parasite.
Get your dog to a vet. Good luck

Is your dog acting lethargic/not himself? If so I would definately call your vet and have him seen. It is possible he has eaten something that may cause an obstruction. I would keep an eye on him and if he should continue to vomit I would get him to your vet.
