I ask that because of the answers in this room. They seem like programmed answers. Does anyone else sense this?

No, I don't see it that way at all. If the answers seem programmed, it's most likely because we've all come to see the same thing and we find ourselves repeating it over and over and over and over in R&S.

If anything, I see it the other way around. Many people with secular views just spit out pat answers and theories without any real understanding. Almost like...it's what they heard or read somewhere so it must be true.

Secular views on abortion and homosexuality etc. all sound the same to me.

I hold these views today, but 20 years ago I had different views. I was pro-choice for one thing. I'm not now...so I would definitely say "no" my answers have not been programmed, I have come to these realizations through experience, prayer, and a desire to know God.

I've researched MANY religions and have come to realize that whenever you have a large group of people searching for answers, and a "leader/mentor/pastor/preacher/teacher/priest, etc." type that is interpretating their truth for them, you are bound to have many people who believe only for the sake of believing in something. Subsequently, you will have many "parroted" stock answers that show no research in fact, free will, love, or compassion. This is true of politics as well as in religion.

That being said, for the record, I am an avowed non-church going (and never been happier) Christian.

Sorry, Grnlow. The question was regarding Christians, not cult religions. AND the gist of the question was about research. JW's have their own made up bible. Check the facts.

Many have by their parents or clergymen. The Bible had very little to do with it.

Jehovah's Witnesses are different. We each had to study the Bible personnally to get the accurate understanding of it. Before we could call ourselves real JWs, we had to answer from qualified elders questions of our faith in Jehovah. We had to show we knew in our hearts what the bible teaches.

Now sometimes, could it be, that when there is one question and several answering with the correct answer, it is the same?

The answers may seem programmed because the objections to Christianity are few in number. (Questions about evil are the most prevalent.) The same questions over and over (even when rephrased) will get the same answers over and over.

no. your answer does not compute. i have been programmed...errr not programmed to respond as such.

i grew up in a "catholic" household....never liked it..bored etc....listened to lots of slayer, king diamond, motley...all the satanic rock n roll....then after some serious mind altering supernatural other worldly demonic experiences i wanted to find about satan...where do you do that? the bible....book of enoch etc....started doing lots of homework...gematria as well....and the bible is not written by any man....there are things in there no man could do if they used a computer program. it all led to reality that i believe in now.

so no. i am not programed. but yes some answers do seem that way.

Nope, at least not this Christian.

You'll find that you're going to receive mostly the same answers from all sides, though - Atheists, Pagans, Christians, Mormons.. After that, we wind up with drinking games and silly posts.

Everybody that goes to school says 1+1=2. Why? Because that's the answer, any question about Life you ask me, I will answer with Jesus because He is Life, thus making Him the answer. My beliefs aren't programed inside of me Jesus lives inside of me and because He is inside of me He tells me what to say in every situation.
