Thank you for answering...my dentist says it will have to be crowned...did you have to have this?

Thank you again...one more q, I am not in much pain, will it hurt me to not have it done at this time? I'd hate to go through this if it's not absolutely necessary.

I just had it in the front few weeks ago and it healed that fast. The bonding has no problem at all. It protect the tooth inside and so far I never felt any uncomfortness out of it. It feels like just before when it wasn't treated with root canal yet. Don't worry...it will be alright. If you feel uncomfortable or something that bothers you after the root canal is done, you can always ask your dentist to do some adjustment. Trust me...you'll be alright.

You'll need to have the tooth crowned after a root canal. But your dentist will replace the bonding with temporary filling material until you can have the crown work done.

I personally never had it done. But they bonding should not effect the root canal. The dentist makes a small hole on the tongue side of the tooth and will fill it once he's done. So the bonding won't be affected, but if it is the dentist should repair it.
