I live in Ohio, A friend and I are looking for travel out west for a few months and looking for some suggestions to visit. We are fresh out of college with some money saved up. We plan on getting simple jobs to pay rent but want to enjoy the time we have before we enter the work world. Any suggestions? We would prefer something with a little scenery.

I would head out to the area around Santa Cruz. It's a wonderful and fun area, not too far from San Francisco. You should be able to find a job easily and it has plenty to do outdoor wise. Santa Cruz is a beach/college town, with a very lay back attitude. Just what you are looking for, in addition it's only two hours from the night life of San Francisco.
