From granting amnesty to criminals to saying that if we build a wall they will find a way around it. I hope that amnesty does not pass, but if our congress and W were serious, maybe with this amnesty will would have jail time for those that came after the amnesty.

The reason for the contempt is the amnesty of 1968, 1986, and maybe the amnesty of 2007. They know that our leaders have no intention of enforcing our laws, so maybe jail time in exchange for a amnesty is the way to go

The new rules would be
1. The first time> they are caught they sign a document that says they will never be granted amnesty
2. The second time> one year in jail
3. The third time<> one year for each time the are caught in a tent jail in AZ

Of course we have the right to control our borders. Don't confuse sovereignty with stupidity. A physical wall isn't going to do anything except waste millions of $$ that we could better spend on training and patrolling the borderlands, streamlining legal immigration and subsidizing projects to keep the illegals at home. Just look how well the wall between Israel and the Palestinians works or remember the Berlin Wall (now THERE was a symbol of futility!). The Great Wall of China was supposedly built to keep out the undesireables from Mongolia...look how well that worked. Learn from history or be doomed to repeat it.

Something else from history...newsflash! We're all the descendants of immigrants! Let's try to remember that and not dishonor our brave ancestors who risked so much to make our lives better. That, in essence is what immigrants to the US have always done.

All i care is that we secure or border to the fullest extent because there are too many women and children "dying" to come here (from heat, coyotes) and that can't be happening anymore.

All i also care about is that we have to get a way to legalize the good immigrants who came here illegaly because nothing else can be done about the 12 million here. And you know for a fact that thery are not going anywhere because the media and the government have been saying that it is impossible and would be unethical to deport them all.

I would like to explain that to be for a secure border and the rule of law does not mean one is against the people who wish to migrate to make a better life for themselves. As long as the perceived benefits out weigh the perceived risks they will keep crossing the border and taking their chances. Human nature demands that they do so. Who would blame anyone for leave a place where thy can only make a substance living and go to a place where they can earn enough to live well and send a surplus back to the ones they left behind?

I would like to ask who does allowing the unchecked migration benefit? One answer is anyone wishing cheap labor. Economics 101: supply and demand, when supply goes up with a constant demand, costs goes down. This talk about the illegals doing work that Americans wont do is misleading in that it is that it only states half of a truth. The truth of the matter is that they will do work at a price that American’s will not consider.

Bill gates recently advocated that the Government issue more work visas for high technologic workers. He maintains that the industry is unable to hire the engineers and technicians it needs from a domestic source. Well Bill, Economics 101: supply and demand, when supply goes down with a constant demand, costs go up. When prices go up more people will get into the business of providing the supply needed. In this case more people will get a technological education to cash in on the rising pay scale. And I ask you; do you really care if Bill Gates is able to get cheap foreign labor? The Internet already allows him to hire most of his software engineers overseas and leave them there.

Speaking of cheap technological labor, why do you think it is that industry advocate so many people go to collage? They tout it as for the students benefit, but it truth it is Economics 101: supply and demand, when supply goes up with a constant demand, costs goes down. The more collage graduates competing for a job, the less salary can be offered. Now this concept can be pushed to the point that no one wishes to do manual work, and the cost of labor for fruit and vegetable picking, construction, road work, etc. has to rise to induce the labor needed to fill the demand.

To ease the cost of labor the powers that be made it very easy for industries, that can, to export their jobs by moving their manufacturing plants off shore. Now that they have reach a point of diminishing returns on exporting labor, the plan is to import it. After all you cannot export labor that must be preformed in country. So the service providers complain that you cannot get American to do certain work, and they must resort to the illegals to do it. Boy they just gotta think we are the dumbest bunch idiots that ever fell off a turnip truck.

Of course they are people who have other reasons for wanting open borders, they are the one worlders, the so-called free trade advocates, the people who would have North American rebuilt on the model of the European Union with NAFTA leading the way. The idea of a sovereign nation is a quaint idea to then an idea whose time has came and went. The idea that certain people should have a Constitution that is for them and them along, and it is their interest that their Government should pursue, not the world’s interest is an idea they have to put to rest in order to achieve their ambition.

Yes, any soveriegn nation has the right to control it's borders. No, that doesn't matter to the pro-illegal activists pushing for Amnesty.

The Key word here is Sovereignty - we are a sovereign nation - we have established borders and laws we abide by. This is the whole problem to me - these people are telling us they will not respect our laws and our sovereignty - yet they want us to cater to them and pay for them. It is an insult to all hard working law abiding Americans to think we will cater to people who do not respect our country and our laws. Especially when you look at how countries like Mexico treat their immigrants.

What the mexican president did is a travesty to America. he gave an order to release all their prisoners on their honor to go to the USA, but if they returned they'd be put to death. Here they gave those murders and thieves amnesty to do the same thing in our country instead of shipping them back and now we as natural born americans have to learn how to talk mexican if we want to buy anything new. I think they should send the crooks back.

Why in the heck is immigration the fnord of the moment? I thought Paris Hilton was the most important thing in the world!

This is a distraction to keep your attention from what is really important. Don't buy into the hype.

All that amnesty will do is make more illegals try to come here and hope that they too will get amnesty. It will never end unless we end it.

Who cares what they think. Don't let the few on here get to you. They do not speak for all Hispanics either.

The facts are that hard working Americans of ALL races oppose illegal aliens.

Moody baseball dude. Negative ghost rider.

It is American citizens of ALLLLLLLLLL races...Comprende?? All incomes, all races, all ages, all states, all cities...everywhere.

Asian, African, Hispanic, European, Middle Eastern...people from every continent and every country, or every race, age, sex...are against illegal aliens of all races, no matter what country you are talking about. No country in the world welcomes illegal aliens. Period.

Don't try to make the generalization that it is usually ANYTHING...because you are 100% WRONG.

I am not talking ONLY about Mexicans entering the U.S. I am not ONLY talking about illegals entering England. I am talking about illegals entering ANY countries. Every one, WITHOUT exception is against illegal aliens. All Hispanic countries also oppose and deport illegal aliens.
