Bin files are normally used for ROM loading like in Routers or other items that use a read only memory of some sort to load operating instructions. You usually dont extract them at all as they are BINARY in format and extracting will just show you a lot of 1's and 0's which wont mean much unless you are the programmer. Bin=Binary

Normally these will be loaded using an internal loader or tftp program to transfer them to the "rom".

A .bin file doesn't need extracting
