Writing text and drawing stuff on pictures??

that lets u paint on pictures and right text on them. i want this program so i can edit some of my pix and put them on myspace. what is this program called & where can u download it for free, for a Mac OS X??? please help me and thank u!!! :))

Most programs for doing that are commerical, not free (Like Photoshop, Paint Shop etc) You've already tried GIMP which is the biggest of freeware products, but also very complex.

For Max OS X, have you tried Future Paint?
