Hi congratulations on the up coming wedding, its a very exciting and stressful time but try to savour every moment as it whizzes by.
We didn't have much money, we had a church ceremony, my dress was the most extravagant purchase and to make up for it i went out and bought bridesmaid dresses from a high street store for £15 each, they looked gorgeous and i got lots of comments on how they looked designer, i bought the shoes and accessorise from somewhere like new look.
For the favours i bought the mesh material from ebay along with the petal shaped almond dishes, ordered wrapped champagne chocolates from thorntons which didn't cost much, bought the ribbon and my hubby made them all up- he moaned at the time but afterwards he felt so chuffed to have done something as they get a bit left out, and he loved all the comments he got for them.
Our do was in a club-where they hire the room out and they put a great cold meat buffet on-choose simple menus as i found people were stuffed after the cake and wanted to drink and dance more than eat.
We bought a few bottles of champers and greated each guest coming through the door with a glass and a thanks for coming.
Our parents put a big notice board either side of the entrance with a pics of me growing up on one side and my hubby on the other and a poem about us both, this was a big talking point.
On every table we laid out party poppers and disposable cameras with a notice card telling people to click away our moments and leave them for us to collect at the end of the night.
If allowed you could have a small fireworks display outside the evening do.
Thats all i can think of for now, have a really special day !!

Dont book a planner mate, they cost the earth! I did all mine over the internet and ebay and although it cost slightly more than expected it was fantastic!! I got married last week and what a TOP day! The reception and night do was in the same function room, and we had chocolate fountain instead of cake, chair covers to jazz up the tables were from ebay on hire at £160 per 100!! table mirrors were £6 each, balloons instead of flowers for the centre of tables but with fresh rose petals to scatter on each, loveheart sweets in the centre of each table with 4 tealight candles on the mirrors (9p from Ikea!) It looked gorgeaous and cost not alot!! If you need a hand in any ideas then please please get hold of me and I will do all I can to help. Loadsa love xx

For me, we had a phenomenal wedding for under $6,000!
First, decide on at most, two things you want to slurge on. What is going to make it the most special, so the money will be worth it?? Stunning dress/tux? Certain special type of flowers? Certain special food at reception? Amazing honeymoon? Pick one or two things to spend on, make them special, then go SIMPLE and INEXPENSIVE on EVERYTHING ELSE.
Examples:
- If the centerpieces aren't that important to you, don't spend $20-150 on "Wedding decorations." Go to Christmastree Shops and get fake flowers and candles for $3.
- Get the veil on Ebay. Veils at bridal shops are $100-1000. Mine was gorgeous on ebay for $17 including shipping.
- Do NOT get your flowers from a "wedding package" at a flower shop. Just get flowers from a shop or a farmers market, and put them in vases. It saves you hundreds.
- If you have 4-6 people who are willing, have them COOK food for your reception!! Food is what costs you, and it may be more personal to have it home cooked than to have it catered and it will cost $300 at most instead of $4,000-7,000

That is really short notice!
I am getting wed next year, June, I have already ordered the dress and talking to friends who know djs or have pubs to hold the reception.
Basically, ask friends to help, or if they have contacts for services, such as car hire, caterers etc,

Keep it traditional and simple, budget and beautiful! remember traditional weddings are always the most romantic and usually quite cheap, kepp everything white and simple and give your bride/groom the best days of their live something you will share for the rest ofyour lives aswell! x
HAVE A LOVELY DAY!
