Any good, clean, talented artist, should be able to come up
with any color you would like.
I think gold would be better than brass. Egyptians used gold, and gold leaf, for many things.
4-5 inches seems pretty big for a lower back piece. Better to
think that over. Make a rough sketch of the tat you want, in
difference sizes and tape it to your back and look at it in a full
length mirror.....maybe even have a friend with you.
Most lower back pieces have more that just one object there.
But you can always add to it later..............and don't drink lots of water before you go or you will be getting up every 5 mins
to go to the bathroom.
Just make sure you eat a little something before you go and
maybe a little juice........and you'll be fine.

The lighter the color the faster it fades out, and they do fade because you have to get them retouched every few years to stay vibrant colored. Yellows and whites aren't great colors as far as staying power.
What about a purple? Kind of mysterious.
Seriously, they can do tons with highlighting techniques. I have so many colors in mine that it looks very real. Ultimately, you're going to be living with this the rest of your life, so pick something that means something to you, and colors that YOU like.

Good luck! Drink lots of water the day before! Helps the skin!
