ok i know u get a hickey from somone kissing your neck or skin but what actually happpens to make the hickey appear?

A hickey is a discoloration of the skin—a bruise, really—caused by prolonged suction of the mouth against the skin. The suction will break the capillaries beneath the skin and cause the characteristic bruising that is a hickey.

from the kissing, biting, or sucking of the skin it causes the blood vessels to break..or just cause an abrasion to the skin.

bruising on skin: a mark on the skin caused especially by kissing, biting, or sucking and associated with physical intimacy... blood clots is why it appears.
