Instead of giving everyone the same thing, why not give individual gifts that recognize each person's uniqueness. Does one bridesmaid like to write or keep a journal? Get her a pretty book and pen set. Does one collect something? Get her something to add to her collection. From what I have heard, most people don't wear the jewelry they got as bridesmaids. But people do value that you put in time to get them something that caters to their interests.

I gave my bridesmaids a gift bag filled with different things. I bought lotions, Bath Salts, Shoe Petals (they all wore heels and I figured they'd appreciate the extra comfort), Necklaces & earrings to wear that day, candles, "Girls Night Out" picture frames (to frame pics from my bachelorette party, and cute little tissue packets- they all cried at the ceremony so those came in handy!! I attached a small thank you note to all their gifts.
It depends on your budget, and most brides give their bridesmaids only one gift that costs more. But I wanted to be a bit more personal and give them something that they can use. I started buying their gifts months well ahead and I hit all the sales at the mall for these small gifts.
In the end, any gift would be appreciated by them.
Good Luck!!

Jewelry to wear at the wedding is a good idea. I'm giving each of mine a pair of earrings and a monogrammed silver compact. I'm also planning on the bridal party using real champange flutes so when the reception is ending I'm going to have someone wash them and re-package them(they'll each get a set of 2) and I'm including a bottle of champagne and 2 chocolate covered strawberries in the shapes of bride and groom.

I gave all my bridesmaids a photo frame with a picture of us in it and a little porcelain jewelry box. However thinking back on it now (10 years later) I think my girls would've been just as happy with some gift cards to Starbucks or something like that.

Traditionally, one piece of jewelry is considered appropriate...usually this is meant to be worn at the wedding. A box of several pieces is extremely generous.
I had only one attendant, but I gave her a silver compact, with her initials engraved on one side, and on the other side, the date of the wedding, and "Thank You". It has been 14 years since the wedding, and she still carries it in her purse every day.

Try this site http://www.americanbridal.com/bridgif.html
If that doesn't help, there are a TON of bridesmaids gift site out there. I like them because you can get an idea of cost before you go out shopping...if you choose not to order them on-line.
Good Luck!

i like the idea of jewelry, or maybe a spa gift certificate, depends on how much money you want to spend. maybe take each of them out for a day of pampering with you... post wedding... have lunch, go shopping, get a manicure and pedicure, see a movie, something to let them know they were your friend before they were a bridesmaid. or you could go with maybe something gormet like nice coffee and a coffee grinder, umm an engraved picture frame with a pic of the two of you, a tote bag that is personalized with THEIR name instead of just your wedding date, one of those silver jewelry boxes engraved, concert tickets, theater tickets, sporting event tickets, visa gift card, maybe you could buy something for their wedding day attire, their shoes maybe... or you could make a pampering basket with bath salt, face mask, foot scrub, finger nail products, gel mask for eyes, lotion, a candle with a nice aromatherapy scent, a bath robe, and some slippers, maybe even a relaxing cd (you could buy one for yourself and burn them for the bridal party and make a cute cd insert), get them their favorite book or make a movie basket with popcorn and sodas (also a cute idea for young attendants) hmmmm it really just depends on what they like. whatever it is that you buy I am sure they will appreciate it! good luck

you usually want to stay within the idea of the gift having something to do with the wedding or a keepsake. giving them a gift card for where they will getting their hair done the day of the wedding is a nice gift too. otherwise a nice bottle of wine if you want it for them to enjoy after the wedding is done and over with.

In the weddings that I was in, I always enjoyed getting something that meant I didn't have to spend money out of my own pocket for the wedding. (I know that sounds cruel but I'm being honest, lol) One bride got us our necklaces and earrings that she wanted us to wear in the wedding. Another paid for our hairstyles. Another paid for 30 minute massages for us to help us relax before the wedding. :)
Good luck!!
