I don't think religious people act high and mighty...at least not the ones I know. One of the traits of a follower of God is humility, the admission that "of myself I can do nothing".
They give all honor to God only.
There are people who are fakes and act self-righteous.
There can only be one truth, not many truths, that's relativism.
If there is more than one answer, then which answer is the truest? If all are equally true, then there is no one truth. Just think about it.
If all religions are true, then what is the point of Jesus Christ dying on the cross if he said he was the way, the truth and the life?
If there were no God, there would be no order in galaxies, in solar systems, in planets and moons, there would be no reason for this planet to exist as it does with its tilt and axis, with its rotation and orbit, with its seasons, and the life as it exists, the kindoms of animals, species, and environments of plants and different terrains for all of this.
Most important, there would be no reason for humans to exist. The randomness of lawlessness cannot form anything, yet we have athiests who believe that nothing formed us, it was just chance. There is a system of operation in everything, from humans to diseases, microbes, and atoms. They all follow a pattern.
We humans can follow patterns in different ways.
We have a soul. Our soul can follow the pattern of salvation which was laid out by the Church, or we can reject it and make up our own pattern by using our free will. Making our own patterns up as we go along also follows the notion of being our own god so many gods are following their made up plans for happiness, success, etc... Or we can follow no pattern for salvation and reject it altogether.
God did give us free will in order to choose the way we live.
To serve him or not it's up to us.
It seems that you have a brain that is thinking and a soul that is searching, perhaps you are searching for the ultimate answer...I hope you will find it.

It is all one big misconception in my opinion.Nobody is any bit better than any one else. Christians need to learn to keep from pushing their opinion on people that God has not prepared to receive Christianity. Personally I am a spiritual Christian and my relationship with our creator is awesome. However I have plenty of room for improvement, and I am no better than the worst sinner. My personal relationship with God is solely due to what the Lord God Jesus Christ has done for me and I accepted His free gift.
God doesn't cram His Bible down our throats and I will not cram my beliefs down another human beings throat. With the awesome time and fascinating experiences I have in the supernatural it is very tempting to want everyone to experience what I have been blessed with, but I know how I felt when I wasn't ready to turn to God,so I respect others opinions. Take care and may God bless you spiritually.

Because people are selfish and use religion to inspire people who want a change. However if people actually read their doctrines they would know and this is true in all religions that everything you do will come back to you whether you like or not.Which brings me to your first question if people read their bible's they would know that we are supposed to be humble not proud. So if people were just calm and humble no one would think that they are better than anyone and wont start to judge and hence not as much wars, because it is complete idiocy to say that religion is the cause for all wars.

Well, I love God and I don't perceive myself as "high and mighty"...................... The Bible is either true or it isn't. Truth is or isn't. We don't get to decide what truth is.
We can choose to follow God or not. And by all means, think and think and think. Don't check your brain at the door.
Pray about it.........................ask God to reveal Himself to you. Study the Bible before you throw it away. Go to the library and check out some books to help you study the Bible.
It's ludicrous to say that God has ten answers to one question. I think that would be very unfair.

1. We don't think we are high and mighty. That is your perception.
2. It is not our right or wrong but God's.
3. There are other man-made gods, but only one true God
God is, that is the best we can do

Christians are supposed to learn not to be judgmental, such as you are demonstrating here in your question.
One could just as easily ask, why Atheists think they are better than others or superior?
It runs the gamut of the intellectual to the ethnical. No one has the market cornered on this sort of thing.

I agree with you. But people dont always practice what they preach about tollerance and loving one another. I'm a pagan and believe in God and the Goddess and I respect everyone's right to worship as they wish as long it harms no one else.

Some of them think they know everything, while refusing to accept their own hypocrisy. I stopped listening to them a long time ago.
