Well see if you two share the same interest and just ask him. To me now days it is OK for a woman to ask a man if she wants to marry him cause i know i would find it a honor for a woman to ask me.

Get to know him 1st!!!! He may be hiding secrets and you will get hurt from it. I know, because my last boyfriend hid the fact that he was getting married from me during our entire year and a half of dating. I found out on my birthday! Don't rush anything.
