Hi Sian T, Power Point will only play sound files that are digitally signed from Microsoft, eg the Office .wav files or sounds recorded on the computer the PP file was made. So you will need a microphone ready, open Start/Programs/Accessories/Entertainment/Sound Recorder. Prepare the music as ready to play, but before using sound recorder it is set to play for only 60 secs. You can increase the time by Effects/Decrease Speed on a trial run on the recorder to a length of time of your choice. Click the red record button then play the music. Edit any silence before and after music and save into Office media files. A big drawback is that the file will be many MB's making the PP file too big to mail. So stream the sound by using Edit/Properties/Convert Now/8 Bit Mono from the Sound Recorder. This will shrink the file to a manageable size, but the sound is not that good. Then you can insert it as a sound file from the 1st slide in PP in open plan view. Hope this helps,
Eamonn.

You also can play the song and record it in an open source audio editor. Doing this you can cut the song off at a certain time to match your presentation... but then you have to consider the legalities of shortcutting the protected .mp4 itunes songs and/or including music in the powerpoint presentation.

Forgot to mention: Try Audacity.

All you gotta do is drag the music into the capacity factor slide, and a window woll pop, and say Play directly or while clicked, and you opt for which one for once you play the slideshow..and BTW: if it doesnt take place in a report, and you got it from Itunes shop, thats why. iTUnes shop songs are locked, and wont take place in a music report..

the long way to go about it:
create a CD through ITUNES.

Then
Rip your cd to various formats (ie wav, or mp3) and import that for your use in Powerpoint.
