Open your Windows Media Player and then go to tools, and then click on options. Now click on performance. Where it says Video Acceleration, change this from full to none. If it will not allow you to change this then click on Advanced and unclick the box beside "Use high quality mode". Now click OK. Back on the Performance Tab if it says full under Video Acceleration you should be able to move the slider to none. Then click apply, then ok, and close out your player. Now try to play the video again. This should help.

More than likely not a codec problem but a video drivers problem. Go to the manufacturer of your cards chipset to get the drivers. ATI, Nvidia, Intel are some major ones. Or you could go to http://www.driverguide.com and do a free scan and update your video driver. Good Luck HTH.

it sounds like one or both driver/codecs could be at fault , make sure to update your video card drivers from the manufactures website, then go to divx.com get the latest video drivers, and install them as well , also go to windows update, get all critical, and non-critical updates, even if you dont know what they do .. keep running windows update untill you have all of the updates .
