my mom gave me a call about a computer at her office. She told me the story that she had made an envelope but didn't save it, and now, hours later, whenever she tries to open a document it pops up with a message saying "do you want to revert to the saved file" and whether she clicks yes or no, she is presented with a a blank screen

help?!

Sounds like the Normal.dot file got corrupted. This is the blank word doc template that Word uses when it starts. I believe that you can search for it, then rename it (old~Normal.dot) and Word will auto generate a new one when you start it next time. Everything should work then. Be sure to be out of word and outlook when you try to rename the doc. I would recommend that you restart the machine first and then do the rename b4 starting any other programs.

Uninstall and reinstall word. That happened to me once. It should work normally after reinstalling. If it doesn't, i guess you should go to microsoft for help.
