As far as I know the answer is No we can't smell.

I only dream in Color and when I dream I'm always aware it's a dream. So I'm never frightened or over joyed It's like watching TV to me.

Dreams have to do with sensations, the brain can duplicate nerve sensations any sensations we experience the mind cannot tell the difference (only your soul can). Dream incorporates mind & soul, sometimes the body when the soul does not maintain control over brain activity.

Smell is not a duplicatable sensation it needs exterior influence to be activated. What people experience is what I call Dream Bleeding. Dream bleeding is when elements of real activity slip into our dream consciousness such as sounds & Smells.

When we sleep if we smell an aroma or hear a sound it becomes incorporated into our dream. Then our mind makes up it's own solution to what we hear or smell.

I think you use all your senses because most times when I dream it seems like that I'm actually there.

if you always dream in colour and have vivid dreams, this is often believed that you are at your 100% in your health, emotionally and physically.
If you see less colours, etc, you are not at your 100%..
