I was wondering if anyone might be able to tell me how to keep these little guys from peeing on the floor all the time. We have tried everything and they still do it. Any suggestions?

I have 3 dachshunds, 2 females 8yrs/6yrs, 1 male/1 yr old. I have been successful in getting them 99% potty trained. However, they still mark the house when I leave- so I think it's mostly attitude. I have given up and give them a section of the house that has wood floors and a doggy door when I'm not home. My vet has several dachshunds and he said that this is very common for the breed.

Yes, and it is spelled dachshund. And you have tried everything except the correct way to potty train. I'm not going to go into a long description on how you should do it. Go on the Internet and find a few dog behavior sites and they will give you a good description of the correct method. Then enroll yourself and your dog in a good dog obedience class so you can learn about dog behavior, how to teach your dog, then you will have a better and safer pet.

A friend of mine had a dachsund(sp?)and she never housebroke it. It would just do it's business everywhere. It was a mean, nasty little thing--to people and other dogs.

I know that they are spite pee-ers, and every time my friends takes hers to the vet it pees on her bed afterwards. GROSS!

Are you doing something that would make them mad?
