Only six states - Georgia, Hawaii, Iowa, Massachusetts, New York and North Dakota - have statutes establishing equal name-change processes for men and women when they marry. In California and other states, men cannot choose a different last name while filing a marriage license.

In California, a man who wants to take his wife's name must file a petition, pay more than $300, place a public notice for weeks in a local newspaper and then appear before a judge.

There is a bill on the table to change that since it is discrimmination.

Here is a stite to get you started

He would go through the same things as the bride would have. After getting a copy of the marriage license, he needs to apply for a new social serurity card, go to the bank & get things changed on his accounts, notify any utility companies or insurance companies. When he gets a copy of his new social sercuity card, he goes to the DMV & gets a new license.

It's not any harder & just as free as when a woman changes her name.

Same as with any other situation - you just get a legal name change through the proper government department. Anyone can legally change their name at any time.

First they remove the testicles.
Then they surgically remove the remote control.
You are placed in a 9-5 job within 15 minutes of home and you must drive a mini-van, (red, tan or white) so as not to stimulate any women on the road.
Then, after you have signed away drinking, sports, friends, action films, weight lifting and laces on your shoes...they change your name!

It's about $135.00 for the lawyer to fill out the paperwork to represent in front of the judge to change your name.
