you'll have to check individual policies since each city makes their own dress code rules. my husband is a fireman and i'm not aware of any rules. i know a few of the guys have tattoos on their necks and forearms and there has never been a problem with it. the only rule i know for sure is that the tattoos can't be explicit or offensive. one idiot got a "chinese" tattoo that said "f*ck you" on his forearm and they told him he was going to have to start wearing long sleeves but they had a chinese doctor in town look at it and tell them if it really said that and he said it was just meaningless characters.

but in the city that is connected with ours the firefighters can't have tattoos that are visible when they are in uniform. you definitely should check out the rules before you get any tattoos that may affect your career.

good luck!

depends on their policy. Every place of business has a different policy on tattoos.
You are just going to have to ask. One thing you can be sure of. If you have a visiable tattoo, it will always limit your job choices.
Personally, I would rather have more choices of jobs than a fad like a tattoo. But that is just me.

i believe that a professional firefighter can have up to 4 tattoos....and i dont think they will fire you unless it is like on your neck or something like that....

the best way to find out is to go ask you boss and see what their policy is...

Dont try that i am a firefighter and have lost my patron badge for 12 years after tatooing a naked barbie on my left ankle. DONT DO IT. (PS donate blood to the red cross and help people instead of puting sh i t on your body)

Each fire department has its own rules and surely you can find out your department's policies with a telephone call.

Good luck.

I believe all cities are different. You will want to ask your employer that. But if you have your actual protective gear on, I don't think anyone will see it, considering the pants, boots, jacket, and gloves cover just about everything.
