i'm thinking of getting one...whats the average price? how are allergies with them? personalities? will a rex kitten and my 4 year old siamese get along? siamese is a male, should i be looking for a female or male rex?
and what the difference between a cornish rex and a devon rex? are these the only types of rex cats?

I honestly don't know, however I'm sure you could type the name into a search and find out information on the breed.
also I would suggest calling a vet, they can tell you a lot about cats and dogs. They deal with many different breeds on a daily basis and learn about them in veterinary school.

Rex cats are not as rare as they once were. You can research on line, or check in magazines like Cat Fancy. Another good place is to contact the cat organizations such as The Cat Fanciers' Association, or TICA (The International Cat Association). They can put you in touch with breeders.

Rex cats have "curly" coats. They do not have the guard (outer) hairs as other breeds do. The curl looks like a marcel wave on some. They have great personalities and a lot of energy, so they should go with your Siamese well.

The breeders organizations (on line) will be happy to answer all of your questions. The Devon and the Cornish are named for the regions that the first ones were found in. They have slightly different coats, but I am not sure of the difference.

I'm sure Rex cats are cool, but I can tell you that every siamese I have ever known is not very cool. I hope yours is different or you will have a world of trouble on your hands bringing in a new cat. They are usually so mean and jealous and vie for attention. Again, I hope your siamese does not act that way!

If you had a T rex for a pet, no mailman would ever deliver letters to your home. you get the picture, don't you? Hey, we are not paleontologists here. just look it up in wikipedia.
