I have suffered for 20 years with this. Last year while on holiday a lady commented on my prickly heat and asked if i was wearing sunscreen, which i was. She said wash it off and leave your skin without anything. The rash went.
We put on sunscreen, shower later, then put on aftersun, each lotion is blocking the pores, which is the cause of the rash. Now i only use certain sunscreens, (NOT Boots, too thick) If you can get the one that foams its great. I have tried anti histamines, prickly heat powder, cooling gels etc. If you do put an aftersun on make sure you shower again before applying sun creams.
Good luck, it has spoilt many holidays for me, just remember the more products you apply to the skin the more the pores get blocked up

Yoghurt. I am not kiding.
You can also apply a cold pack, get it from the pharmacy and put it in the freezer for a while, then put it on wherever it hurts.
Or if you can't do that, get a plastic bag, and fill it up with ice to create the same effect.

Clean your skin as much as possible, apply a light coat of vaseline on any affected area, benadryl or steroids speeds recovery. Hot water will provide relief but will increase itchiness in the long run.

E45 cream that contains anhydrous lanolin as one of its ingredients has been found to open sweat glands. Rub some over the affected areas before exercising/after bathing to encourage the pores to open and the trapped sweat to flow freely.
