Can you get an empty box and put it under your desk to elevate your feet and take the pressure off your tailbone? That's what I do because I have disc damage and it helps tremendously. Also, if you can, get up every hour and walk around your desk or to the restroom or just down the hall. Walking for a couple of min helps loosen your joints as well as your spine. Sometimes it helps if your chair isn't ergonomic to put a small pillow behind your back. Whatever you can accomplish to reduce the amount of pressure on your tailbone should help with what you're experiencing. And anti-inflammatories can be helpful as well, but don't depend on them long-term except under the care of a physician. They can irritate your stomach and some will even harm your liver.

Go to your local pharmacy and buy a "donut cushion". It is a seat cushion that has a hole in the middle so that when you sit, your tailbone will be over the hole and there will be no pressure on it. It should cost about $10 to $20 depending on the model. The hole is covered so it looks like a regular cushion. There are also some inflatable types.

It's kinda silly and embarassing, but a donut pillow will work wonders. I bruised my tailbone a while back and it still gives trouble to this day, but donut pillows always take the pressure off and allow you comfort when you have no option but to sit for a long time.

Hi, I had the same problem a few months ago. The pain then started to get worse and I started to notice a very small swelling near the tailbone. I went to the doctor and he said it's a pilonidal cyst (or abscess) I had to get it surgically removed. It's a very simple surgery, you get out in the same day. I'm not saying you have the same problem. But if the pain gets worse and you start noticing a swelling or something, then it's probably a pilonidal cyst.

I agree with the donut pillow. I broke my tailbone as a child falling on roller skates. They gave me a donut pillow and crutches. But, you can also go to your local dollar store and just buy the inflatable ring for babies/kids in a pool. Works great.

OMG i know just how you feel. I broke my tail bone going down a water slide. What i would do for your problem is site on an ice pack for about 20 minutes a day also take advil twice a day to reduce imflamation. Also try every hour go on a ten minute walk. Good luck!!!!
