ok i have this 6 week old kitten and i have a jack russel bad combo i know but w/e
we have 5 cats in total and we have gates around the kitchen the cats can come and go as they please ect.but this kitten will not stay in the kitchen and im afriad my dog will attack her and she will get hurt. We have tried evrything to stop her escaping but nothing works. Sometimes we put the dog in the crate and let her walk around till she gets tired but that cant be a permanent solution. So what do i do?

I have tried introducing them and my dog tried to lunge at her and my dog attacks the older cats its just they are bigger and faster so they escape before they get hurt.Thats why we have the gates so she cant bother them.

You need a gate that the kitten can't climb over.
Either higher, with a smooth surface or both.

You are hinting that the dog shows respect to the grown up cats. The only solution is to convince the dog not to harm the kitten or keep the two separate. As the kitten gets bigger she will have lots of excape routes planed to keep out of reach. Can you dog handle the humilation waiting for him.
Please keep kitty save and separate from dog and don't stress out the dog.

try to introduce them to one another..take it slow but be firm if the dog acts wrongly to the cat...as the cat will to the dog..but thats instinctive
just be persistant with them and let them know that neither one is leaving so they need to get used to being around eachother and prolly become friends

Find a new home for the dog.
