Would it bother you or be a problem if your girl proposed to you? Keep in mind you guys are talking about getting married in about 3 years. So does it matter if she proposed first?

I think it really depends on the guy and his viewpoint on proposing. Traditional guys would probably prefer the girl 'tell him he needs to propose' instead of actually proposing to him. A more open-minded guy might actually be flattered by the gesture.

Yes, it would bother me. Maybe he has something planned? Maybe he is saving for a really nice ring? To me, thats the man's job and I would be pretty upset if my wife took that away from me.

I think it would be better if he thought it was his idea.
Most guys really dislike being pressured to commit.
Try the following:
"Have you ever thought about getting married?"
"What do you think about marriage?
Never ask a guy how he 'feels' about something.
